Is your smartphone safe?
Everyone in this world is using a smartphone. According to Statista there are 3 billion smartphone users across the globe and there were 54% of data which were breached in India alone and even your data could be there on the list.
Below are the methods of how your data are breached study them carefully and protect your data.
How do you think your data are leaked?
Is it because of vulnerability in your device that hackers get access to your device? Probably not the vulnerability is not in your device it is with you.
Yes, you are the one who is giving access to your data by installing apps from an unknown source and allowing permission for the app which is not necessary.
For example, if there is a game that does not have anything to do with call and SMS. The maximum permission that a game needs would be storage but still the application would ask permission for calls and SMS so that the developer can access your calls and SMS data. So be aware before granting permission for an app.
A lot of us might have seen in the play store there would be a lot of paid apps where some of us cannot afford to pay and use an app or game. So what we do is we surf the internet for moded application where we can access the paid app free of cost and if we download this type of application from the internet your phone will be successfully hacked. This may be shocking for some of you but this is true. Your phone can be hacked by injecting a trojan or RAT(Remote Access Trojan) into an application you use it is a virus or payload. If you install this moded app a hacker can get access to all of your data that has been stored in your device including phone calls, photos, access to the camera, microphone, location, SMS, etc., And he can also call and text on behalf of you.
Bloatware these are the apps which are pre-installed on your devices where some of that can be deleted and some are not and this is not fare which is done by the smartphone manufacturer as a user we have to decide which app should be present in our device but this type of apps generates revenue to the smartphone manufacturers by displaying ads.
There are a lot of users who use mid-range smartphones and there is a security app called the phone manager which is pre-installed in our device and cannot be uninstalled to uninstall it you have to root your device but rooting your device is not safe. This app is present in a lot of Chinese smartphone-like Oppo, Vivo, and mi. I have noticed this in mi smartphone. When you boot up your device for the first time and you open the phone manager. There is a popup of an agreement where you agree for the terms & conditions and that's it the application gains access to all the permission without the user knowing it and this app is powered by the cleaned master which was banned in the play store for data breach and the same app is pre-installed in a lot of china devices.
I will be sharing a few tips to safeguard your data's from hackers in the next blog.
Good information, keep doing this and give us more information to safeguard our smartphone
