Does Having Multiple cameras produces a Good image Quality?

We are in this Digital era where every person having a smartphone is a journalist and thanks to the advancement of technology and most of us give preference to Cameras, as many of there profession or passion depends on a Good image or video Quality of a Mobile.

As many of us cannot buy High-quality DSLR cameras for Photography we go for Smartphones Which are pocket friendly and has good image optimization. These cameras are good enough for upcoming You tubers and there are some short filmmakers who have made movies using these mobile cameras.

You all know that most of our Phones and upcoming smartphones are packed with multiple cameras having dual cameras, multiple cameras, quad cameras by adding multiple lenses to their phones like a telephoto lens, macro lens, ultra-wide lens, and a depth sensor.

There were smartphones whose camera quality was even better before the launch of multi-camera smartphones but how can phone without these many lenses produce a good quality image.

Before knowing about that let's see how an image is processed in a camera.

Our phone doesn't directly show us the image captured in our device. There is a process that happens inside our phone after the image is captured. The image captured by the device is optimized by the algorithms programmed by the smartphone manufacturers each smartphone manufacturers have their own set of algorithms to optimize this image by increasing or decreasing saturation, brightness, color, exposure based on the image and this image provided by the lens plays an important role in gathering and focusing the light reflected from a scene or object and this process happens in a fraction of seconds.

Single Camera Vs Multiple Camera Phones

Back in 2012, Nokia launched a phone which none of us remember called as Nokia 808. This smartphone launched in 2012 Can still compete with the smartphones launched in 2020 and sometimes it offers better image quality than the phones that have multiple cameras of 108-megapixel primary camera, 48-megapixel telephoto, 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a depth sensor these are the specifications of high-end Samsung galaxy S20 ultra and can you trust that this 41 megapixel Nokia phone images were almost equal to that of Samsung S20 Ultra. These prove that you do not require multiple cameras for good photography all you need is a good quality lens in your device and algorithm for image optimization and Google pixel smartphones are having the best algorithm and that's the reason pixel phone having a single camera can produce good image and the camera app that Google uses are used only in Google phones, but if you want this app on your Android device you can use this app by using an API developed by the developer to install Google Camera in Some of our devices.

Do you think all these lenses in a multi-camera smartphone produce a Good image Quality?

Having more cameras in a smartphone produces Good quality images but the same image quality can be produced by a single camera phone and I think these multi-camera setup smartphones are used for marketing for increasing their sales.
